Mount Rinjani is Indonesia's second-highest volcano, rising to 3,726m above Lombok. The classic trek circles the crater rim and descends to the stunning Segara Anak crater lake at 2,000m — one of the most spectacular sights in Southeast Asia.
Fly into Lombok International (LOP). Transfer to the trailhead village — either Senaru (northwest) or Sembalun (east), depending on chosen route. Rest, gear check, and briefing with guide.
Begin ascent from Sembalun (1,156m). Trek through savannah grasslands and forest. Camp at Pelawangan Sembalun (2,639m) on the crater rim — spectacular views of the caldera at sunset.
Midnight start (1–2am) for summit attempt. Rocky scree final push to 3,726m for sunrise above the clouds. Descend back to camp, then down into the caldera to Segara Anak crater lake for camp.
Morning at the hot springs by the lake. Optional: soak in natural geothermal pools. Afternoon trek up to Pelawangan Senaru rim (2,641m) and descend via the Senaru trail to the basecamp village.
Transfer back to Mataram or Lombok airport. Optional stopover in Senggigi or Kuta Lombok for a meal before catching the flight home to Singapore.
